The Cunningly Good Group was appointed in early 2024 to provide Falkirk Council with PR support for the Kelpies 10 event on 27 April 2024, the tenth anniversary celebrations of the iconic equine sculptures, designed by Andy Scott at The Helix Park, Falkirk.
The KPIs were as follows. Through our work we had to achieve:
- Active media coverage
- Social media engagement
- Quality coverage
- Event ticket sales
The Cunningly Good Group instigated a PR programme over a period of three months in the run up to the event, and on event day itself. Activity included:
- A photocall with sculptor Andy Scott and 50 Clydesdale horses in advance of the event, issued to press
- Organising features on ten years of the Kelpies with interviews with Andy Scott, including with BBC Radio Scotland and the Sunday Post
- Press features on the artists playing at the evening event
- Issuing four press release announcing various aspects/news about Kelpies 10, including a post event release with images from our official photographer taken throughout the day
- Inviting and securing top Scottish tourism social media influencers to the event
- Inviting and securing top Scottish tourism journalists to cover the event
- Inviting and securing the Press Association to cover the event
- Securing an interview with BBC arts editor with Andy Scott
- Securing broadcast attendance at Kelpies 10 – STV News
- Securing ‘What’s On’ coverage on both STV and BBC Radio Scotland at prime times pre event
- Working in partnership with Visit Scotland’s PR team to secure national and international coverage
Through this activity we achieved 380 pieces of regional, national and international coverage, resulting in 10.6 million estimated views and 176K engagements on social media.
